Reviews
This is an incredible opticians. The level of service is high. Awesome staff and Mahfooz the optician is exceptional with his work. Their service is detailed and precise. I’ve been to quite a few opticians and would definitely recommend coming here. It’s a smooth service.
Both Specsavers and Crouch End Specsavers have let themselves down. I was presented twice recently with glasses which were the wrong prescription. When I finally went back again to pick up the correct glasses, I requested for the second time some kind of formal apology, rather than just a ‘sorry’ from the person in the shop who gave me my glasses. I was resssured this would happen. Some weeks have passed and nothing forthcoming. For this major high st brand carrying responsibility for so many people’s eyesight, an error of this type seems quite unacceptable. My worry is, if their factory delivered the wrong glasses to me twice in one order, how many other people are being given incorrect prescriptions without it even being noticed? I rarely write reviews, and have given Specsavers ample opportunity to get in touch with me, but they haven’t taken it. Reviews can be used rather loosely for small grudges, so I don’t make this one lightly. I have no complaints about the staff, who have always been friendly and polite.
26th Jan-in response to your reply , asking me to get in contact - But you had your chance to rectify the situation twice after my visits in store and you didn’t. Why does it take a public review for you to do the right thing?
I will not be returning to this opticians. Picked out a pair of glasses, paid and waited for them... and waited, got given a bit of a story about them not being up to standard, after I'd been told the glasses were ready, then not being able to find them. In the end after roughly 3 weeks, I got a pair of glasses that looked similar to the ones I'd picked out, but definitely weren't, I thought, oh well they're nice enough, they were adjusted so I could see, ending up so close to my eyelashes that they pushed against them, I should have put my foot down there and then, but thought maybe I could see if I could just get those little nose pads for them to lift the glasses away from my eyes a bit, ended up they were nothing but a headache giver even though my idea kinda worked, the arm fell off not so long ago and I'm back to wearing a pair of old glasses. End of story.
I'm a regular and a fan. The staff are young, super friendly, and good at their jobs, explaining the various options patiently until they gradually sink into my thick skull. The optometrists are experienced and efficient and happily answer my technical questions.
I am a Specsaver customer, now and again, at different branches using them for years.I walked in recently with intention of buying contact lenses.
Surprise, surprise! They won't sell you one unless you have new prescription with them.
I mean I have 'valid' prescription with them, but doesn't look right as vision is blurry.
Mean time done eye test somewhere else, result came slightly different (0.25) on one of the eyes and contact lenses worked perfect since.
But in the branch they refused selling me lenses with strength that's work fine with me unless go for another eye test.
Same day gone online and got them elsewhere.
Have been a Specsavers customer for many years but only used the Crouch End branch since 2021. The staff are simply the best - each one welcoming, friendly and caring in their approach. A special mention to Mo who was very efficient and kind during my visit. He really makes the store a pleasure to visit as a customer. Thank you Mo and to all the team for your usual fabulous service and attention to detail. Much better than other opticians in Crouch End including all the independent ones.
So happy to have a Specsavers near to where I live. The new look is impressive and the greeting of the staff was excellent. The optician was thorough so I had no questions for him. I would highly recommend the Crouch End Broadway branch of Specsavers.
I always have an excellent experience at this branch in Crouch End. Thorough eye and contact lens check up, easy appointment booking and fair prices. I'd would highly recommend this place.
